ABOUT

Paula was born and raised on the island of O'ahu. She is the second of four girls born to a local Japanese father and a mother from Germany. She graduated from Punahou School and the University of Washington.

Her Saturn return was having her amazing son Judah, during her pregnancy and after returning to work, she vowed to work in industries where working was not a job, but where she loved what she did so it doesn't feel like work.

In mid 2008, Paula's yoga journey started. She always wanted to take yoga, but did not make the effort to do so until after she became a mother.

In 2011 she had a serendipitous meeting with a photographer and was able to start shadowing and working for him, shooting weddings and special events. Another serendipitous encounter came at the end of 2011 when she was offered to learn how to teach yoga as one of her yoga teachers was opening a studio in 2012.

Paula's love for yoga grew as she was able to read bodies and fine cues that work for a large class as well as individual students. She completed 500-hours of teacher training in 2018. Paula teaches a variety of styles of yoga which include; hatha, vinyasa, 26&2, yoga sculpt, inferno hot pilates, yin/restorative. She also teaches guided meditation and breath work as well. She has also completed courses in Yoga for Teens, Yoga for Trauma and has attended courses in injury prevention for yoga.

Paula is currently enrolled in a program to be an Ayurvedic counselor.
